Film's I like for Art

Here I present images and an analysis of films I have enjoyed for how certain aspects are shown within the films (i.e. CGI animation and/or drawn animation). This page displays images of the films of both "Rise" and "Dawn", the recent planet of the apes films (2013-2014), and Princess Mononoke.

This page displays more images of drawn animated films made by Studio Ghibli (Princes Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle and Arrietty). As shown known for the great detail they put into the sceneries of their films.

Another animated film called Garden of Words which displays a mixture of CGI animation and drawn animation (mostly drawn). Unlike Studio Ghibli this film isn't all drawn but it does display amazing and realistic animation.

Pastel Drawings

I tried attempting to draw a scary face using coloured pastels as shown here.

Using images of  animals I tried to create pastel drawings  of animals. Here I did a Panther using a black pastel and a white pastel. The white makes the eyes stands out more against the black.

Here I also created a pastel drawing of a Great White Shark.

I then attempted created other copies of images in a pastel drawing form. Here I drew a pastel version of a red eye and a set of teeth with gums.

Here I used watercolours to paint Billy Elliot the went over with a white pastel and a black pastel in order to add light, dark areas and detail.

Here I made a pastel drawing of the mask from The Phantom of The Opera.
I wanted to make a response to the films Rise and Dawn, the recent Planet  of The Apes films. Here I showed a kind looking cat merged together with his more serious older form to show the contrast between the change in their personalities as a pastel drawing. This is a reference to Caesar, the main Ape in the recent Planet of The Apes films who has a huge change of personality from the start compared to the end result of his experience with both the good and bad sides of Humans.

Here I attempted to draw a still life drawing of an apple using pastels. Using black charcoal and black pastel for shadow and white pastel for lighting.

Charcoal Drawings

I wanted to use charcoal in order to create some "dark" images (scary). Here I did a charcoal drawing of a Raven which suits it well and a scary smiley face which I also used coloured pastels a bit as well.

Here and below I did multiple other scary faces using charcoal and some coloured pastels.

Watercolour Paintings

I attempted to create art from the images I took from my holiday in Alaska using watercolours. Here I have created a watercolour painting of Denali Mountain.

Here I attempted to create a watercolour painting of the Yukon braided river system, Alaska. I tried to copy it's shape as much as possible but made it quite abstract.

Here I did another watercolour painting of Yukon river which is a lot more abstract than the first.
